WHY DO RAINBOWS FORM?

The bending of sunlight by the raindrops is the key to forming the of rainbows.  It creates what is know as a spectrum.  Which is when white light  (in this case the sun)  is dispersed into its components, which is the color you see.    

To see a rainbow, the sun must be at your back with the rain falling in front of you..
